Vladimir Gromov

Vladimir Gromov graduated from the Belarusian State Academy of Music in 2002 (class of the Honoured Artist of the Republic Belarus and Ukraine M. Zhiliuk). The following year, he earned his master's degree in voice from the Academy.

He joined the opera company of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus in 2000.

In 2008, he was decorated with the Francysk Skaryna Medal for his contribution to the development of national culture and art, and in 2012, the title of Honoured Artist of the Republic of Belarus was bestowed on him. In 2018, Vladimir Gromov received the National Theatre Prize of the Republic of Belarus in the category “Best Male Role in a Musical Performance” for his interpretation of Marcello in La bohème staged by Alexander Titel. In 2020, the title of People’s Artist of Belarus was conferred on him. In 2021, he received a commendation from the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Belarus for active participation in significant public and cultural events. In 2022, he was granted the Special Prize of the President of the Republic of Belarus for his artful interpretation of characters in the 2020/2021 premieres of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus. In 2023, Vladimir Gromov became a laureate of the Stars of the Commonwealth International Award, which is granted to outstanding figures of the CIS member states for significant success in the humanitarian field. 

He often seats on the jury of national and international competitions and takes part in national and international festivals, including April Spring Friendship Art Festival in Pyongyang (Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, 2000), Stanisław Moniuszko National Singing Competition (Minsk, Belarus, 2001, second prize), International Singing Competition in Belgrade (Yugoslavia, 2002, certificate), Belarusian Days of Culture in Iran (2003), Days of Culture of the City of Minsk in Kyiv (Ukraine), Belarusian Days of Culture in Tajikistan (2007). Since 2005, Vladimir Gromov has been a regular participant of the Slavic Bazaar International Festival of Arts (Vitebsk, Belarus).

CONCERT TOUR

Vladimir Gromov is regularly invited to perform at the Azerbaijani State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre. In 2013, he was engaged by the theatre as the Count in the premiere performance of Le nozze di Figaro conducted by Ayyub Guliyev. In the 2017/2018 season, he performed lead roles in Tosca, La bohème, Madama Butterfly, Il barbiere di Siviglia, Le nozze di Figaro there.

In 2013, he sang the solo part in Ein deutsches Requiem by Johannes Brahms at the Gdańsk Music Festival (conductor Ernst van Tiel).

In October 2022, he performed the title role in Eugene Onegin by Pyotr Tchaikovsky at the Andrei Eshpai Opera Festival at the Eric Sapaev Mari State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre.

With Belarusian and Russian orchestras, he has performed in Germany, Spain, Iran, North Korea, Luxemburg, France, Poland, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and Tajikistan.

As a member of the theatre company, Vladimir Gromov has toured Russia, Germany, Thailand, and the UK.
