Songs of the 1930s-40s

"On the eve of and also on 9 May a great deal of events, concerts, performances and shows take place. Victory Day is a great occasion for us all. Giving this concert, we continue a series of special evenings marking 9 May and pay tribute to those who defended us, who won. Secondly, we would like to remind people about the tragic day when the Great Patriotic War started. To remind them how wonderful the peaceful sky is and how terrible it is when a disaster ruining lives breaks out,’ says the director Galina Galkovskaya. It should be pointed out that Galina Galkovskaya is the author of the idea to organize show concerts at the small hall (as the director confesses, she is happy that her young colleagues continue this story). ‘The spectators will hear the most popular songs about war, as well as compositions popular in the 1930s: "By the Black Sea", "Tired Sun", "Fishing Boat Full of Mullet", "How Many Nice Girls There Are!", 2The Song of the Old Cabman", "Hey, Andryusha!", "Dark Night", "Blue Kerchief", etc. Today few compositions are written with such culture of performance where beautiful lyrics fuse with real melody. They require a good singing voice. That’s why the concert will feature excellent soloists, such as the Honoured Artist of the Republic of Belarus Anastasia Moskvina, winners and participants of international competitions and festivals Ilya Silchukov, Elena Salo, Dmitry Kapilov, Natalia Akinina, Elena Tabolich, Alexander Zhukov, Alla Guba-Ploskina, Tatyana Gavrilova and Marina Aksyontsova, violinist Nadezhda Senkevich, and accompanist, winner of an international competition Svetlana Kolos-Ivanova.
