The winner has been named!

‘Sensation in the world of opera,’ ‘The revelation and shock.... A bright, quivering and shining soprano with fabulous and easily taken top notes on piano...,’ ‘Exquisite musicality, emotion and dedication...,’ ‘A gentle and powerful voice of the supernova who erupted in Perm, fills the soul with unspeakable delight,’ all these words are about the magnificent singer Nadezhda Pavlova. The winner of the Grand Prize and Audience Award at the 2nd  Minsk International Christmas Singing Competition will once again star at the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus in the role of Marfa in Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov’s The Tsar’s Bride.
And you, our beloved audience, had a unique chance to attend the performance on 14 March for free! You only needed to answer a simple question: Nadezhda Pavlova used to work at the Musical Theater in Petrozavodsk. What was her repertoire there?

It's nice that many of you have named almost all the parts preformed by Nadezhda at the theatre in Petrozavodsk. But not all the answers were complete. According to the singer, she played even ‘rabbits and mice’ from the children's repertoire of the theatre.
The winner of our competition is Sergey Garost: on 14 March, he will attend The Tsar's Bride. There is one more thing to mention: the cast of the performance is going to be quite brilliant with Nadezhda Pavlova (Russia) as Marfa, Vladimir Petrov as Grigory Gryaznoy and Oksana Volkova as Lyubasha. The conductor is Maestro Nikolai Koliadko.

Thank you everyone who took part in the draw! Do not worry if you haven’t got a ticket to the Belarus Bolshoi. There are more competitions to come which will be announced on the official website of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus, and at https://vk.com/bolshoibelarus .
