World Ballet Stars Evening

The organizers of the festive concert, the Honoured Artists of the Republic of Belarus Marina Vezhnovets and Yuri Kovalev say that the main idea behind the project is to introduce the audience to the scenes from the ballets that are not yet in the repertoire of the Belarusian Boshoi along with contemporary pieces and the scenes from the theatre’s repertoire that will be performed by the stars of world ballet. The guest artists from St Petersburg  are the Mariinsky Theatre artists Igor Kolb and Yulia Makhalina, and the artists of the Mikhailovsky Theater Sabina Yapparova and Marat Shemiunov. The Bolshoi of Russia will be represented by a prima ballerina Chinara Alizade.

The stars of the Belarusian ballet, Igor Artamonov, Olga Gaiko, Anton Kravchenko, Irina Eromkina, Ekaterina Oleynik, Marina Vezhnovets, Yury Kovalev will also shine on the stage of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus.

Renowned ballet masters will share the stage with young dancers, pupils of the Marina Vezhovets Ballet School, who have already studied ballet dancing for five years. They will dance solos and also the fragments from the ballet The Nutcracker that was staged at the Ballet school. The concert will be accompanied by the theatre’s symphony orchestra under the baton of Maestro Nikolai Koliadko. Olga Kostel is the director of the project.

Marina Vezhnovets Ballet School was founded five years ago in Minsk. The teaching process is conducted by brilliant teachers representing classical Russian ballet school. Children from three to ten years are involved in classical ballet performances that are staged especially for them including The Sleeping Beauty, Thumbelina and The Nutcracker. The students of the school actively participate in international competitions of classical and modern dance taking places and winning prizes.
