Anton Kravchenko. 20 Years on Stage

When he was a child, he wanted to be a pilot. And he didn't even think about a dancing career. But for 20 years he has been working at the Bolshoi. On 3 March Spartacus will be performed on the stage of or theatre in honour of the principle dancer. Anton calls this role the role of a dream.

Anton Kravchenko is an artist who has fans in different parts of the world. And yet his most devoted audience is at home. On 3 March, the Honoured Artist of the Republic is preparing a gift for the audience. He will appear in the title role in Aram Khachaturian's Spartacus. Although we will congratulate Anton: he has been working in his native Belarusian Bolshoi for 20 years. It is not surprising that this spring evening Kravchenko will appear on the stage in the role of the hero who raised a rebellion in Rome in the 70s BC. Perhaps it is the most iconic for him. As the artist admitted, this role can be called a dream that came true. ‘Spartacus was born free’, Kravchenko said in an interview with Ekaterina Eremina for the newspaper "Literature and Art". ‘He is strong in spirit, brave, courageous. Such person can inspire people and carry them with himself. Even if they are going to die..." And in such role Anton always appears in Elizariev’s ballet. It is physically one of the most difficult ballets, which requires all dancer's strength, as well as acting skills. ‘Amazing Spartacus’ the audience say.
