Nina Scharubina

Nina Scharubina graduated from the Mogilev State Music College and the Belarusian State Conservatory (now the Academy of Music) in 1994, where she had studied under Associate Professor Valentina Rogovich. In 1999, she completed the Academy's programme of postgraduate studies (assistantship) under the supervision of the Honoured Artist of the Republic of Belarus, Professor Leonid Ivashkov.

She made her debut with the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus in 1998 as Micaëla in Georges Bizet’s Carmen and joined the opera company of the theatre in 2002.

She has a wide concert repertoire and often gives recitals and performs in concerts at the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus, Belarusian State Philharmonic Hall, etc.

In 2002, she started her teaching activities at the department of singing of the Belarusian State Academy of Music, and in 2013, she was appointed associate professor. Nina Scharubina’s students are winners and participants of numerous international singing competitions and festivals.

She is a participant and holder of certificates of a number of opera festivals and forums. In 2016, she sat on the jury of the 2nd Minsk Open Competition of Choral and Solo Singing “Spring Singing.”

Since 2017, Nina Scharubina has chaired the council of the President of the Republic of Belarus for the Support of Talented Youth.

In 2008, she was decorated with the Francysk Skaryna Medal for outstanding achievements, professionalism and contribution to the development of national culture and art. In 2010, the title of the Honoured Artist of the Republic of Belarus was conferred on Nina Scharubina for her professionalism and remarkable achievements in the development of culture. In 2013, she was awarded the State Prize of the Republic of Belarus in the fields of literature, art and architecture for outstanding achievements and vocal and performing skills of significant aesthetic value that considerably contribute to Belarusian national culture. The title of the People’s Artist of Belarus was bestowed on Nina Scharubina in 2016 for her lasting fruitful work, exemplary service and contribution to the development of culture and art.

CONCERT TOUR

In 2015, Nina Scharubina took part in a concert of masters in the field of culture and art and in the opening ceremony of the Days of Belarusian Culture in Turkmenistan. She participated in cultural events held as part of the World Exhibition EXPO-2015 (Milan, Italy), in the Days of Belarusian Culture in China (2015).

She has appeared in a number of opera festivals, including the Classic Open Air Solothurn (Switzerland), the Feodor Chaliapin International Opera Festival in Kazan (Russia), the Golden Crown International Opera Festival in Donetsk (Ukraine), the Toshkent Bahori International Opera Festival (Uzbekistan).

Nina Scharubina has toured widely in Austria, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, France, Russia, Switzerland, and Italy. As a member of the company, she has also toured Germany, Thailand, the UK, Tunisia and Cyprus.
